Glitz and Glitter

Last night the kids went to Christmas Ball! All zinged up, looking dynomite and ready for fun! Mother was a ball of nerves, I was mostly concerned about Taylor and driving. They have it a resort that is about 12 miles out of town!
It was such a crazy day, Emily got her hair done at 10:30, we ran some other errands, had to meet Taylor and his date & mother to get his tie to match her dress, and ingrediants for the cake Taylor requested to be made for his party, Better than Sex Cake!!! (should I be scared??)

Emily then got together at a friend's house and they all got ready together! The mom prepared a beautiful dinner for 19 kids, and invited all the parents over to get pictures etc! Taylor went to another girl's house, and that mom had prepared a wonderful array of appetizers for everyone (too bad we didn't get to stay long, we had to head to Emily's party to get pictures too).

After staying up until 2:00 AM knowing both were safe and sound, poor mother is BEAT! Oh well, sleep is over-rated, right?

Here are pictures of the kids and their dates.
<------Emily & Reggie
Taylor and Darreia-->
Poor Emily, she is sooooo sick with an awful cold and sore throat, I bet she is home tomorrow from school! She looks sick in this picture! And Taylor, the boy cracks me up when he tries to smile, I can only image his grad pictures!
Soooooo, another activity under our belts, I think I can start to think about Christmas....3 gifts purchased, that is it!
Yikes!
Happy Holidays from the Main's!!!

December? Already?

Wow, does time fly when you are having so much fun....or is it just old age? I think it might be the latter of the two!! I guess I don't consider myself old, but just busy!!

All my football talk this fall, the season went on ,and on, and on! It wasn't a bad thing, actually a fun thing. After Taylor finished his sophomore season, he was invited to continue on with the varsity team, so all in all we attened 24 football games this season (that is about 3 season's worth of game rolled into 1 season). The varsity team went on to Metrodome to play in the semi-finals for the state championship! We lost, but it was a VERY FUN year!

Next we moved onto dance. Remember the back issue with Emily? That long word? Well, she tried to be on the team, but had to step down due to her back. It was a very difficult decision, bittersweet for all of us. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old and not to be able to finish her senior year is just plain TOUGH!!

NOW, we have basketball for Taylor (never sits still). Just started practicing last week. First game is next week!!

ME? Well, I keep plugging along with everything... Have you seen my new Christmas tags on Etsy? My fun new ornaments on my website? My Ebay store has some good deals (and the SALE button my website too).

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!

Saturday Morning

It is a wonderful fall morning! I love fall!! I can't wait to see all the leaves change!! It is always so spectacular!
What is going on around here? The usual, football, football and some working and creating!

Remember last week when I said Football just wasn't my favorite....well, on Thursday, Taylor had a bit of a head injury. It was NOT fun. But he is feeling much better this morning already!!
Here are some of my new Holiday tags....I love RED & Snowmen, can you tell???

We have 2 weddings today!! This ought to be fun!! So I suppose I better start ironing clothing!!! No playing with paper today!!

Darn!

Have a good weekend everyone!!

Are You Ready For Some Football?

I always get so nervous about this sport, the action, the roughness, the piles of large boys etc!!

Taylor had his second game yesterday, which even took me to another state, that is big in my book. I don't travel well!! We played in Moorhead, which is right next door to Fargo, North Dakota!!!

Here is Taylor carrying the ball, he is a running back. It scares me everytime he carries the ball, because he always is at the BOTTOM of the pile!

And here he is doing his other position...Long Snapper! I think this is funny to see him do this!!

I am so excited, I have some really fun winter and Christmas tags coming to my Etsy Shop!! I just giggle when I see them!! So keep watching, I will be listing them SOON!!

1st Days of School!!!

Well, I always hate to see the summer end, but for some reason, I just couldn't "take" summer anymore and needed for my children to get back into something constructive! As I have said before, I hate to see Emily start her senior year, but.....
I have said first "DAYS" of school, Taylor being a sophomore and first year at the high school, they have a day just for the sophs. So his first day was yesterday......can you tell how thrilled he was??? NOT!
So now this morning, in between the chaos I managed to get a few pictures again. Here is Emily first day as a SENIOR!! Getting ready to leave in her car!

And then one together.....the poor kid NEEDS a haircut, but we have had NO time for that with football!! So, I guess he just keeps flipping those bangs to the side for the time being!!!Ahhhhhh all day peace and quiet....

This is SO Exciting for ME!!

Flora Tags

Yep, little ol' me!! A little over a week ago, I was asked by a customer on Etsy about some of my tags. We struck a deal and look where they landed:

It is in the second group of pictures, the avacado (or Bamboo color) Flora journal shipping tag!! See it??

Christy is a very exciting and talented gal, she has put together one of the absolute best looking kits I have ever seen. She has soooooo many fun things, and the add-on kit is just as amazing.
AND, I just read, she has 6 kids!!! Mercy, what a gal!!
So I am off the drawing board....new penny rug done, needing pictures, want to get some new tags made up, and well, some more stitchery things.
The list is long.....as always!
AND, I really should take Taylor to get some back to school clothes!

Trying to stay Afloat!

Summer is nearing the end....I am not sure if that is good or bad!!! Emily will enter her senior year. We all know how quickly time flies, so......that makes me sad!! I remember dropping her off for kindergarten and her running the length of the playground, crying "mmmmmmmmmmmoooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmm"!! Poor dear!!

I have been working on new things, I am trying to get NEW things on my website. I know my wholesale people are looking for new ideas for their stores!! Any ideas what you are looking for? Email me, I would love to hear!!
Some new tags for Etsy will be listed in the next few days. So keep watching for those!!
The weather has turned to fall here in Minnesota, those 90 degree days with 100% humidity, I hope are gone for long time!! Too hot for me!!

Where O' Where Have I Been????

Good question! July flew by just as fast as can be. I can't really say what we did or didn't do this month, a little baseball, dance camp, a little more baseball, working, sweating in the July hot weather......

I have been trying to stay busy with my tag making and some stitching. I can show ya some of my latest tags.....am loving these new primitive Halloween tags, I have another set using these fun stamps that I will post tomorrow, they are on my camera, but someone stole by batteries for their xbox controller!!!

And how about these????

I love the vintage look these have, they are perfect for any travel journal or scrapbook page!! So fun!

I have some fun pillows that I will be adding to Etsy soon, so you will get a sneek preview on them!! Leave your comments and I will do a drawing for a fun tag set!

I suppose, I need to hit the hay.....until next time! And don't forget the DRAWING!!

I finally finished up this simple set of tags and got pictures of them AND put them in my http://www.amyliz.etsy.com/ Shop!!

And these.......

And if you are looking for something NEW for Americana:

Spondylolysis, Lumbosacral

Wow about those words?? This is what Emily's condition is/was called. In regular terms, Emily has a small stress crack in the L5 level of her vertebre. She was diagnosised back in April and has been wearing a molded plastic-like brace for the past 7 weeks. Yesterday, we made the trek back to Abbott Northwestern Piper Building to the Twin Cities Spine Center.

It was really strange, my husband's stepdad had an appointmen at the Heart Hospital at Abbott at the same time. We were only a few floors and a few corners away from each other!

Emily was told she could start to wean from the brace and get into PT sessions and life should be back to normal!! She is hoping she can get her stamina back and be on the school dance team again this coming year!

After we did the hospital thing, we landed here:

This could possibly be my all time favorite store!!

Now that I have Emily on the mend, I have to take Sadie to the vet, she has the annoying habit of licking her front paws until they are almost raw. I am not sure what they will do for her, but there seems to be a problem and I guess I have to find out what it is!

Just got back from the vet---allergies!! It is always something! Had to get meds for her too! UGH!

The Boys of Summer

It begins today, the first day of summer vacation AND BASEBALL!! This morning was the first practice for VFW!! This team will play through the middle of July.....don't worry, I will give you plenty of updates! This morning, they finished the practice off with 'field maintenance'!! The one in the orange shorts is mine, notice how he stands there and watches the 5 year old rake!! Gotta love teenagers!

The little guy belongs to one of the coaches!!

Sorry about all the fencing, there just isn't a good place to take a picture at this field!!

Here is a better picture of my almost 16 year old son (who gives me my gray hair), this was taken after his 9th grade season. I suppose he is chewing on sunflower seeds! Is there anything else to chew on at a baseball game??

I am working on some new things for my Etsy site and Ebay, have you seen my America Star Banner on Ebay? If you love Americana, you must take a peek:

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I think we are playing B's baseball (that would be the other team Taylor plays on) and then rush back for a spaghetti dinner at the local VFW!!

In the name of baseball......Amy

Everyone Else does it....

I guess I need to too!! Blog, that is!! I have been snooping around the world wide web seeking out all the blogs I can, they are soooo addicting to read. Why? I have no idea! Some just chatter about their days, some chatter about their jobs....and the pictures, I love, love a good picture!! And EVERYONE seems to have 15 years of photography classes under their belts!!Okay, let me bore you with my details, perhaps someone will find it all interesting! I live almost smack dab in the center of Minnesota, north/south-east/west! A large tourist area. It gets pretty crazy around here for the next few months. I have had a small cottage business for YEARS!! A Main Collection http://www.amaincollection.com/! I have done so much sewing and stitching and whatevers all my life. I have always enjoyed creating in some sort of form. I am married to one of the most supportive husbands, he always lets me fly by the seat of my pants!! We have 2 teenagers (yep, that is where the bits and pieces of gray hair come from) and one little super darling dog, Sadie!! She is my baby and most of the time that is what I call her!!

I told you she was cute!!!

Okay, back to me.....I am 42 years old and continue to have fun playing with scissors, paper, fabric, ribbons, buttons, you name it! My addiction for scrapbooking and paperplay took me on a new course, a part-time job outside of the home!! I work at the local scrapbooking store. I love getting my hands on the new stuff that comes in.
Here is one of the things I made with Cosmo Cricket's Lacing Cards and Basic Grey's paper:

This is Emily, we call her "Em", at four stages of her life. I started getting sentimental, she just finished her junior year TODAY. I now have to say she is a SENIOR. That is hard to do!!Summer vacation starts tonight for my kids, they will be running me ragged, 2 baseball teams, football camps, basketball camps, basketball summer league, dance camp, and dance practices....ugh! I hear several teenage boys (now Sophomores) coming through my doors as I type.....Well, I think this is a good start for my blog.....or is it not??

Tootle loo, Amy
