Black Friday Ads

Isn't crazy that you can actually look online to see what the infamous Black Friday ads will be for the past week? I LOVE it, because I am one who can NOT stand to wait! I have always snooped for my Christmas presents and still do, shhhh, don't tell my family! As a child I would try with all my might to UNWRAP the presents, at least one end of the box. My mom would always ask why the ends of the gifts always came untaped! Naturally, I would blame it on my brother Mike!!!

Soooo, I thought I should unveil our Black Friday ads! We will have a special for each Etsy shop! Selling the "fun" wool felt colors really made me want to do something a bit different!

I have to say, I love it!

Saturday

It was one of those days where, family just had to come first.....

Emily was home from college, Taylor was on a mission, and

David missed it all by being at the hunting cabin.

I have always told him, too many things happen when he goes there!

Here's what went down:

Last night, Taylor got home around 11 pm, he seemed excited to see his sister?? (odd, yes)

He ran into her room and they were in DEEP discussion. David and I went to bed, they continued for a good hour.

Curiosity was killing me!

So, this morning I asked Emily--mums the word!

I got NOTHING!

Well, she kept asking me when we could go shopping....and finally spilled the story.

Taylor wanted to ask a special someone to the Christmas dance.

Emily informed him he had to do it in a UNIQUE way!

They came up with all kinds of crazy ideas, and they finally let me in on it all.

We had this fun idea where the gal would pull up in our driveway, and there would candles making arrows pointing to the side of garage where there would be a big box (a refrigerator box) wrapped as a gift with helium balloons as a bow at the top.

(I know, pictures would make this better)

Inside the box, is, of course, Taylor!!

He is going to even dress up, nice shirt and TIE! (his idea even)

He would pop out of the box and ask her to the dance!

With flowers of course......

Sooooooo, we ran around town trying to find this enormous box for 6'3" Taylor to fit in. We would get asked "what do you need it for", I could hardly contain myself!

We got the helium balloons, the kids were going to run back and get the flowers later.

They wrapped the box with gift wrap, had it ALL READY to go....

AND

Well, as I figured, the poor gal couldn't come over tonight!!!

She had spent the day out of town.

Taylor felt bad, but already has it planned for Friday night!

Soooo, we will get pictures then!!

Progress Report

We have some progress to report.....the countertops are

BEAUTIFUL!!

I have spent the whole day just wiping them and wiping them

Pathetic, I know!

Busy Busy Busy

And sadly, I neglect to post here....Soooo much has been going on!

Football is DONE for another season {smile}

A slight kitchen re-do going on, new countertops tomorrow,

all new appliances in a couple of weeks

and as the story goes,

one thing will lead to another....

paint? new floor? etc?

I am LOVING my new refrig, well, the picture of it anyway....

Yep, it is fall, and there is only one important thing about fall:

FOOTBALL

Well, in my humble opinion, that isn't the case,

but ask my son or husband and that is what they will tell you!

Saturday was Homecoming.

It's a big community celebration with a pepfest Friday night, parade Saturday morning, game in the afternoon and a homecoming dance for the kids at night.

It was a BEAUTIFUL fall day here, sun shining about 60 degress.

Perfect for an afternoon football game

(again, not my words)

But, try as I might, there is no way of getting around going to the game.

Taylor plays linebacker.

He had a SUPER game on Saturday, so I guess I am glad I went!?

Now, tell me, how can this be so fun?

I just can't say I see the fun in playing on this picture!

Summer's End

This post is kind of funny because, I haven't posted here since the end of May and missed the whole summer!!

So, Summer's End, just seems ODD to me....

A couple of weekends ago, Emily decided we needed to have a fire and roast some marshmellows, the one and only time this summer we did this!

So with our rip roaring fire

We gathered our goods

And enjoyed the pure delight of a smore!! Or two....

There just isn't anything better for dessert!

While sitting around our backyard firepit, I noticed something soooo strange! This tall, loney, perfect sunflower growing among the usual woodsy stuff! Now where on earth did this seed come from? Some little bird must have dropped it here to grow and delight us!

It was so perfect, there was no way I could NOT take a picture of it!!

It was truly at it most perfect state...

Tuesday

The days literally fly by, I mean, how can it be Tuesday when it was just LAST Tuesday??!!

I have been a lot less productive the past few weeks (and I type that sadly, due to the time I have lost). I must get back into the creating mode! I have a few new things in my Etsy Shop, have you seen them?

My First Design Team Project

For some, this is old hat! For me, it is ALL NEW! I belong to the design at http://www.lazydaycreations.com/ and Mel sent us a darling collage sheet of birds....well, I knew right away what I wanted to do with it, but......sitting down and doing it was another story! So many things got in my way, and over the weekend I finally finished it! It is a gift box with gift tags inside. Here it is:

Special Orders Special People

Last week I was asked on Etsy to do a special order for a gal, she wanted some fun tags for "thank you's" to tie on her packages! It was late at night and her and I convo'd back and forth for quite a while, she wanted little tags, chocolate brown and with the dragonfly and thank you on it....I quickly ran to my "creating" room and pulled out this and that (thankfully I had organized all my little stamps in a drawer....I should post a picture that too someday) and came up with this idea in a matter of minutes....ran back to my computer and she loved them, I quote her "You ROCK",
